- Business & Program Development Department
- Marketing & Communications Department
How We Work
We’re a small, dedicated team of less than 10 people located in the United States of America and Cuba. Most collaboration is done digitally through email and platforms such as WhatsApp to accomplish our goals. This means that there is no need to “clock in” at an office. This is a global internship that can be done anywhere with reliable internet access!
What You’ll Do Each Day
Each day is different depending on our tasks. Our interns are expected to work independently and set their goals and objectives to complete their projects. We’ll be there to guide and supervise along the way. Here are some of the responsibilities that interns will have:
Business & Program Development Intern:
Assist with updating and executing current business development plans/strategies, and developing new ones. Develop, execute, and manage current and future programs in and about Cuba and other potential markets. Interns in this Department collaborate with and report directly to Director of Operations & Administration, Lydia Castro.
What We’re Looking For: Coursework or experience in business development, international business, and/or program/project management and access to an up-to-date personal laptop are required. Bilingual, English/Spanish, is a plus, but not required.
Marketing & Social Media Intern:
Assist with website content and optimization, and social media updates for multiple platforms, including our Facebook Group, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Squarespace. Develop and deploy targeted marketing materials. Develop ideas and create original content. Write copy for social media posts and other online platforms. Assist in developing and executing marketing strategies. Interns in this Department collaborate with and report directly to Director of Communications, Nakia D. Brown.
What We’re Looking For: Experience with or interest in writing original content. Experience with photography, videography, or graphic design; experience with our current social media platforms; and access to an up-to-date personal laptop are required. Bilingual, English/Spanish, is a plus, but not required.
Part-time, unpaid position. Minimum of 10 hours per week. Interns may have the opportunity to travel and work in Cuba, or other Diaspora Travel & Trade locations. Additionally, we are willing to assist interns with developing their independent study program.
Internship applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Send us an email to INFO@DiasporaTT.com with your resume and responses to the following 4 questions:
