Fitness & Wellness En La Habana - A Diaspora Signature Project

Carlos Davila was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in the Bronx.  His fitness career started on a semi-pro football team where he played Defensive Back for 3 years.  While attending graduate school, he discovered personal training and group exercise.  He later worked at luxury, holistic, interdisciplinary training facility where he combined his personal and career interests in Health and Wellness with his academic and career pursuits in Psychology. 

BabaLos has competed in various obstacle races such as Tough Mudder, Spartan Race, Civilian Military Combine, and Warrior Dash. and is now currently a FhitPro (Fitness Professional) at the Fhitting Room, a boutique HIIT* studio in NYC.

He’s a father of two sons and a music buff with varied tastes and spends way too much time creating playlists for his commute and fitness classes.

* High-Intensity Interval Training, known by most as HIIT is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods.  This type of training gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time than non HIIT workouts.


Yrak Seanz

US-Cuba Music Professional

Yrak Seanz is a musician, teacher, and business-owner from the Lawton neighborhood of Havana, Cuba. As Hip Hop culture traveled from the US to Havana, he added rhymes to the improvised beat and has been creating rhythm and rhyme ever since 1989. He is 1 of the 2 members of the award-winning Cuban Hip Hop group Doble Filo (Double Edge), and the Founder of US-Cuba production company SOUNDFLOWER PRODUCTIONS.

He has worked throughout the world - Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela, South Africa, New York, and California - and has shared stages with legendary artists such as Hip Hop duo Dead Prez. As a Diaspora Project Consultant, Yrak provides insight into and connections with the Cuban music industry, from grassroots artists and production companies to those operated by the Cuban Government. He currently resides in Miami with his wife and 3 children, and enjoys baseball, basketball, and watching movies. As he says, “People think Hip Hop is the only the studio or the stage…no, Hip hop is everything. Hip Hop represents everything that we live.”


SOUNDFLOWER PRODUCTIONS is a creative powerhouse and resource center for musicians and music-lovers. Founded in 2015 by Cuban Hip Hop artist Yrak Seanz, SOUNDFLOWER independently produces cultural events, albums, and music videos in the United States and Cuba. As a Collaborator with Diaspora, SOUNDFLOWER leverages its multimedia production capacity and network within the Cuban music industry, for our public and private programs.
